People started looting the treasure after another demolition in 1988.First seen during the demolition of a building in 1985.Disappeared during the wars in Afghanistan.Originally found in 1978 by Soviet archaeologist Victor Sarianidi.Treasure consists of over 20,000 gold ornaments.The tomb of Qin Shi Huang remains untouched.It is estimated that there may be more than 8,000 total.Terracotta soldiers surrounding the tomb of China’s first emperor, Qin Shi Huang.Discovered in 1974 by a group of farmers who were digging wells.Scholars took interest and the caves were explored from 1946-1956.Originally discovered in 1946 by Bedouin shepherds.Found in 1922 by British archaeologist Howard Carter.
